Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Financials and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Transasia (TW:6702), which rose 10.00% or 0.61 points to trade at 6.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) added 9.98% or 2.15 points to end at 23.70 and Cybertan (TW:3062) was up 9.95% or 1.90 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Favite (TW:3535), which fell 6.78% or 1.15 points to trade at 15.80 at the close. Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) declined 5.87% or 0.27 points to end at 4.33 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was down 4.78% or 0.70 points to 13.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 404 to 333 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.98% or 2.15 to 23.70.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.60% or 0.77 to $47.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.34% or 0.67 to hit $49.29 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.45 to trade at $1340.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.31% to 31.802, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2086.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.63.
