Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electricity and Hotels sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sintronic Tech (TW:3536), which rose 9.89% or 2.15 points to trade at 23.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Bright Led (TW:3031) added 9.22% or 1.60 points to end at 18.95 and Kpt Industries (TW:1805) was up 7.48% or 0.71 points to 10.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shin Tai Ind (TW:1235), which fell 9.94% or 3.20 points to trade at 29.00 at the close. Jess-Link (TW:6197) declined 9.64% or 3.60 points to end at 33.75 and Favite (TW:3535) was down 9.63% or 1.55 points to 14.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 561 to 237 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.89% or 2.15 to 23.90. Shares in Bright Led (TW:3031) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.22% or 1.60 to 18.95. Shares in Kpt Industries (TW:1805) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.48% or 0.71 to 10.20.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.42% or 0.20 to $47.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.95 to trade at $1251.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.15% to 30.199, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 99.12.
