Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Holdings & Investments and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 11.11% or 0.420 points to trade at 4.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 10.67% or 0.080 points to end at 0.830 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) was up 6.58% or 0.050 points to 0.810 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which fell 10.51% or 0.910 points to trade at 7.750 at the close. Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) declined 4.20% or 0.39 points to end at 8.89 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) was down 3.03% or 0.57 points to 18.27.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 167 to 163 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) rose to 52-week highs; up 11.11% or 0.420 to 4.200.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.24% or 15.85 to $1290.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.89% or 0.40 to hit $44.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.42 to trade at $45.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.32% to 3.2295, while EUR/TRY rose 1.59% to 3.5383.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 98.28.
