Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Maxtek Tech (TW:3315), which rose 9.96% or 2.30 points to trade at 25.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Jung Shing Wir (TW:1617) added 9.93% or 0.86 points to end at 9.52 and Inventec Besta (TW:8201) was up 9.92% or 1.75 points to 19.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ennoconn (TW:6414), which fell 9.92% or 35.50 points to trade at 322.50 at the close. Kseco (TW:5521) declined 9.71% or 1.35 points to end at 12.55 and Taliang (TW:3167) was down 9.42% or 3.60 points to 34.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 643 to 158 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Maxtek Tech (TW:3315) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.96% or 2.30 to 25.40. Shares in Ennoconn (TW:6414) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.92% or 35.50 to 322.50. Shares in Jung Shing Wir (TW:1617) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.93% or 0.86 to 9.52. Shares in Inventec Besta (TW:8201) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.92% or 1.75 to 19.40.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $52.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.29% or 0.16 to hit $55.82 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.45 to trade at $1258.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.00% to 30.645, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2256.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.96.
