Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.26%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 6.84% or 0.640 points to trade at 9.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 3.59% or 2.010 points to end at 57.990 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 2.76% or 4.440 points to 165.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 6.13% or 0.370 points to trade at 5.670 at the close. Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) declined 2.14% or 0.830 points to end at 38.000 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) was down 2.03% or 1.160 points to 55.890.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 87 to 63 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 6.13% or 0.370 to 5.670. Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) rose to all time highs; rising 3.59% or 2.010 to 57.990. Shares in Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.14% or 0.830 to 38.000.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.22% or 13.20 to $1070.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.41% or 1.00 to hit $40.73 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.02% or 0.90 to trade at $43.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.21% to 16.7438, while EUR/MXN fell 0.47% to 17.8327.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.70.
