Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME), which rose 3.91% or 0.120 points to trade at 3.190 at the close. Meanwhile, Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) added 3.86% or 0.19 points to end at 5.11 and BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) was up 3.44% or 2.30 points to 69.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which fell 4.13% or 0.250 points to trade at 5.800 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 2.50% or 0.010 points to end at 0.390 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) was down 2.35% or 2.60 points to 108.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 227 to 140 and 43 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.80 to $1257.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.22 to trade at $77.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 4.6728, while EUR/TRY fell 0.07% to 5.4425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.36.
