Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 1.24% or 0.0075 points to trade at 0.6120 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MILAN:BAPO) fell 1.46% or 0.2100 points to end at 14.1400 and Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MILAN:PMII) was down 1.51% or 0.0145 points to 0.9485 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 3.00% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.66 at the close. ENI (MILAN:ENI) added 0.12% or 0.02 points to end at 17.13 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) was up 0.26% or 0.020 points to 7.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 344 to 137 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.18% or 1.65 to $53.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.96% or 1.16 to hit $60.20 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.58% or 6.90 to trade at $1192.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.0663, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7217.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.82% at 98.92.
