Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Vale SA (SA:VALE3), which rose 6.16% or 1.23 points to trade at 21.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 6.12% or 0.68 points to end at 11.79 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was up 5.96% or 2.41 points to 42.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which fell 3.06% or 0.95 points to trade at 30.05 at the close. PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) declined 2.78% or 0.010 points to end at 0.350 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) was down 2.44% or 0.21 points to 8.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 160 to 122 and 9 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.35% to 30.29.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.65% or 7.70 to $1185.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.69% or 1.01 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.77% or 1.05 to trade at $136.07 .
USD/BRL was up 0.48% to 3.1134, while EUR/BRL rose 0.96% to 3.5271.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 94.59.
