Leading wireless chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) , through its subsidiary - Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, is all set to integrate its fast connectivity and new imaging technology to the ASUS ZenFone 4 family of smartphones in Europe with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platforms. ASUS ZenFone 4 series of smartphones is expected to be the world’s first commercial smartphone to feature Gigabit LTE and 802.11ad multi-gigabit Wi-Fi technologies, delivering ultra-fast virtually seamless gigabit connectivity indoors and on the go.

Integrated into the Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, the Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem enables the ZenFone 4 Pro to download faster with speeds over 4G LTE, on a compatible LTE network and superior signal quality with Qualcomm TruSignal dual-antenna technology. Qualcomm Technologies’ 11ad Wi-Fi allows users to download and share 4k videos in minimum possible time and enjoy fast access to cloud services.

Other than gigabit connectivity, the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro can also benefit from the integrated Qualcomm Spectra 180 Image Signal Processor (“ISP”) offering dual 14-bit image signal processing and features the latest generation of Qualcomm Adreno 540 Graphics Processing Unit (“GPU”). This feature is expected to enhance the smartphone’s imaging experience, allowing users to enjoy a 360-degree immersive visual capture experience.

Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Mobile Platforms will support the ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 4 Selfie series. The latest Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform allows the ASUS ZenFone 4 deliver fast, energy efficient performance with extended battery life. The Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM will provide smooth and responsive camera performance to the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. Finally, Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform powers the ZenFone 4 Selfie, with a triple-slot tray for dual data connections with speeds up to 150Mbps.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors are well-known for their Internet of Things (“IoT”) applications. Moreover, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets are used by several handset developers who use the Alphabet Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google - developed Android operating system. Despite such popularity, aggressive competition in the mobile phone chipset market has also been hurting the company’s profits. The company faces severe competitive threats from its closest rival, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) , which has been redesigning chipsets for the mobile computing market.
